Summer Camp in Decatur IL

All Adults and girls attending camp MUST bring to camp a current copy of the AHG High Adventure Activity Medical Form and Swim Test Classification Form for Girls and Adults. Forms must be presented at registration.





Illinois’s AHG Summer Camp in the North Central Region is located in the heartland of Illinois in Decatur.  Illinois’s AHG Summer Camp is intended to help grow and mentor our American Heritage Girls by offering experiences rich in adventure, character and leadership, with faith, fun, friendship, and learning.

Illinois’s AHG Summer Camp is the opportunity for Tenderhearts  to experience their first time at camp.  For Explorers, they will have a full-week experience and continue to grow their skills through badgework and outdoor experiences. For Pioneers and Patriots, we offer the opportunity to work on required badges, build on the foundation they already have, and continue to grow them for their future as adults. No matter the level, every American Heritage Girl Camper is guaranteed an amazing and unique experience in a safe AHG environment and FUN atmosphere.

Illinois’s American Heritage Girls Summer Camp offers an amazing range of camp activities for all our campers.  Scheduled times for badgework will take place Monday through Thursday.  Evenings and Friday will consist of games and worship as group activities.​ All campers will have the opportunity to choose from a select group of badges on each day.

Badge opportunities may include: Canoeing, Climbing, Fire Safety and Fire Building, Swimming, Camping, Horsemanship, Service, Shooting Sports, Archery, Scrapbooking, Sewing, and much much more.  

Complete badge schedule will be available to those who register.

Accommodations

Illinois’ American Heritage Girls Summer Camp provides a great environment for campers to be themselves and experience new things. By spending their days around the camp and nights in comfortable accommodations, Girls will develop positive habits while building their self-esteem and independence. ​

Tent: Bring your personal tent and gear.  Tents may sleep up to the appropriate number Girls they are rated for.  ​ (Hammocks are not permitted)

Cabins:  With air conditioning and bunk beds; bring your own bedding.​

Retreat Center:  Air conditioning motel style, private room, with 3 sets of twin bunk beds, no linens, pillows or bedding supplied (bring your own), no maid service.(Girls with Registered Adult Parent Only)​

RV:  Full and partial hook ups.  Limited number available.

Camp Registration Includes

Accommodations of your choice, 17 meals (Sunday evening through Saturday morning), 2 camp t-shirts, opportunities for service projects, badge work, daily devotions and worship times, a variety of free time activities, scheduled competition game activities, and loads of fun.

$100 Deposit per registered individual (girls and adults) must be received within 10 days of registration in order to reserve your spot at camp.

Girls (Explorers, Pioneers and Patriots):

Have an Explorer or Pi/Pa who is interested in attending camp, but no registered adults from the troop can attend? Please reach out to Tina Wilson ([email protected]/847-997-4502) to chat about an opportunity for your girl to be a part of a provisional troop for the week. Girls are accepted on an application basis and must be willing to be a part and have an online call prior to camp with the provisional troop. All girls and leaders in this provisional troop will be camping. Instructions on how to register for camp will be provided after speaking with Tina
